Summary:

A qualified engineer to test an Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) training system for the Defence sector to allow UAV operators to practise flying and controlling the Air Vehicle.

Main Content:

 

Provide test expertise to a project running commercial and bespoke software, hosted on mainly commercial hardware, but with some specialist hardware, to plan and execute acceptance tests on these software-intensive systems.

 

Responsibilities / Duties

The Acceptance Test Engineer would be required to:

  • Understand requirements, including use cases
  • Perform System, User and Acceptance Testing
  • Work with the team and user documentation to develop test scenarios; agreeing these with the client
  • Develop test scripts and manage our 'compliance matrix'
  • Perform integration, dry run and qualification testing
  • Produce written reports
  • Receive system build updates and perform repeat or regression tests

 

Qualifications / Experience

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, or a related discipline, along with the following experience:
  • Software development or software intensive system testing background
  • Manual and automated software testing
  • Automated test tools, e.g. NUnit, CppUnit, other scripting tools
  • Appreciation of system engineering processes
  • Working directly with customers with regard to compliance matrix and approaches to/ scenarios for testing
  • Performance of acceptance testing to defined process, with reporting

Due to the work and customers involved with this position, candidates must be UK single-nationals and have resided in the UK for a minimum of the last 5 years, as Security Clearance is an essential requirement (SELEX can obtain this, if not already held).
