SELEX Consortium fully committed into the SESAR
Programme
9 March 2010 - The SELEX Consortium, formed by SELEX Sistemi
Integrati SpA and SELEX Communications SpA – both Finmeccanica
companies – since June 2009, has become a member of the SESAR
(Single European Sky ATM Research) Joint Undertaking (JU), a unique
public private partnership founded by European Commission and
EUROCONTROL. The SESAR JU is managing the SESAR Development Phase
Programme. The technological dimension of the Single European Sky
(SES) initiative will give Europe a high-performance air
traffic control infrastructure which will enable the safe and
environmentally friendly development of air transport.
The SELEX Consortium contributes in 93 of the
300 projects of the SESAR Development Phase Programme, with a total
value of participation equal to €102m. The consortium is involved
in the main domains and activities covered by SESAR Programme,
including the design, specification and validation of En-Route and
Approach ATC Systems, Airport Systems, Network Information
Management Systems, non-avionics CNS Systems, Aircraft Systems, and
SWIM Technical Architecture.
The SELEX Consortium is also involved in the
operational and transversal activities foreseen in the SESAR
Programme, as well as co-leading the Airport Systems, Communication
Navigation Surveillance Ground Systems, and the System Wide
Information Management Work-packages.
