SELEX Sistemi Integrati at ATC Global 2010

9 March 2010 - SELEX Sistemi Integrati, a Finmeccanica Company active in the sectors of electronic systems for Air Defence, Naval Applications, Air Traffic Management (ATM) and Airport, is exhibiting at the 2010 edition of ATC Global, the major ATC event in Europe, taking place in Amsterdam from 9-11 March 2010.

The mastery of technologies and critical capabilities in the domain of Large Systems enables SELEX Sistemi Integrati to offer global solutions for ATM systems, including turnkey airport systems. From meteorological systems to ATC sensors, and from ground stations to airspace traffic management, the company offers a total capability portfolio, presenting itself as an ideal technological partner for turnkey infrastructures, taking on the responsibility for designing, producing, installing and setting up the operational configuration.

The steady commitment of SELEX Sistemi Integrati in the international field to define new standards for ATM systems, is confirmed by its presence in the main international programmes such as SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research) and Co-Flight (programme among Italy, France and  Switzerland).

The subsidiary companies SELEX Systems Integration Ltd (ATM systems and consultancy services), SELEX Systems Integration Inc. (navigation aids) and SELEX Systems Integration GmbH (weather surveillance), further enforce the company’s capability in providing global solutions in the ATM and airport domains.

SELEX Sistemi Integrati is on stand H400A in Hall H, with its ATM and airport system CLIO; GRACE for air traffic navigation performances; IDS air traffic auxiliary information; and MXC, an Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast.

SELEX Sistemi products on display at ATC Global 2010

ATM and Airport System: CLIO - At ATC Global 2010, SELEX Sistemi Integrati is presenting its CLIO advanced product baseline for ATM and Airport Systems. Two en-route and tightly integrated approach suites supporting all operational roles are deployed – each one composed of four Controller Working Positions and fed by surveillance and correlated flight data management systems together with Safety Nets, MONitoring Aids and Medium Term Conflict Detection functionalities. The demonstrator is completed with a fully integrated Touchscreen Multibay System, mainly composed of a new Human Machine Interface supporting delivery, ground and tower controller tasks through an intuitive electronic flight strip system. The SELEX Sistemi Integrati Touchscreen Multibay System has been designed to accommodate any kind of operational procedure and controller needs being organised in a multi-bay working-area reflecting the effective controller ATC flow.

Air Traffic Navigation Performances: GRACE - GRACE provides air traffic controllers with information regarding the performance of the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) (the global positioning system – GPS and the Satellite Based Augmentation System - SBAS) service in terms of Required Navigation Performance (RNP) parameters; GRACE is able to provide the “Tower GNSS” and “APP GNSS” ATC controllers with both tactical and strategic information concerning the GNSS service status and  produces information for the generation of GNSS NOTAM compliant with ICAO and EUROCONTROL Standard.

Air Traffic Auxiliary Information: IDS Console - The Information Display System (IDS), an Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) system, is a hardware and software platform capable of receiving, collecting and distributing different information disseminated across the AIS offices. The data and images received from different sources are displayed on a visual interface that is entirely configurable. Such a configuration tool allows the AIS to be easily adaptable to the different user requirement such as ATC personnel requires. The Human Machine Interface can be customized and defined according to the different type of user.

Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast: MXC - MXC (Mode-S eXtended squitter Capability) is the high performance ADS-B (Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast) Ground Station for en-route, terminal and airport surveillance application, compliant with the 1090 MHz Mode-S Extended Squitter standard. MXC distributes the collected surveillance information to ground ATM systems, and is also capable of receiving and decoding other Mode S defined messages transmitted by aircraft in reply to interrogations made by Mode S radars.
