Watchman Surveillance Radar
The Watchman surveillance radar system provides Air Traffic
Services for the vast majority of the UK Ministry of Defence
operational stations in the UK and worldwide. There are currently
40 systems in service worldwide. The Tactical variant (mobile
equipment) of the Watchman system allows the rapid deployment and
installation of Air Traffic Services in locations where British
forces are on operational duty.
SELEX Systems Integration is the System Design Authority for all
Watchman equipment and has the capability to manufacture and
support the system. Since 2003, SELEX Systems Integration has
provided the MOD's Watchman system with the following support
services:
- Post Design Services
- Training
- Field Service Engineering
- Obsolescence Management
- Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
- Design Services
- Documentation Management
- Configuration Control
These services ensure that the Watchman system provides a high
level of operational availability throughout its lifecycle.
