The Airports Solutions team of Selex ES held an inaugural Watchman Radar User Group meeting at their facility in Southampton on Wednesday 25 April, 2012. As the Watchman Radar System Design Authority, Selex ES has reinitiated a forum for Watchman radar users to share operational data, information and resourcing.
Attendees at the meeting included UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) and civil Watchman Users from the UK and abroad. Focal points discussed centred around the following:
In line with existing support solution teaming arrangements, Selex ES was supported with Key Note presentations from both Cobham (RoJo / Waveguide) and CPI (TWT issues and concerns).
The forum has received extremely positive feedback and actions have been put in place to address several of the issues raised by the attendees. As a result, Selex ES will continue investing in the Watchman Radar User Group ideal, and provide the vehicle for the continuation of this process across the wider Watchman Radar community.
This page will be updated to reflect future forums.
The Watchman radar system provides Air Traffic Services for the vast majority of the UK Ministry of Defence operational stations in the UK and worldwide. Selex ES is the System Design Authority for all Watchman surveillance radar system equipment, and has the capability to manufacture and support the system.
