Civil Government
A need for greater efficiency in working practices and the
ability to do more for less, combined with the UK Government’s
implementation of its major package of austerity measures
– as outlined in its 2010 Comprehensive Spending
Review (CSR) – mean that interoperability across
government and the emergency services is core to this sector.
In addressing the economic climate and planning for sustainable
economic growth, the CSR included plans for a 34 per cent cut in
administration budgets across the whole of Whitehall and its Arms
Length Bodies, saving £5.9 billion a year by 2014-15. As a result,
the challenge for government departments, agencies and
organisations that have historically operated in silos, is now to
adjust to ensure Government can provide more interactive
citizen-centric services and fulfil the efficiency agenda by
reducing waste through shared services and information.
Through our subsidiary company, VEGA , SELEX Systems Integration can
ensure that initiatives are conceived and implemented effectively
across central government departments and agencies, local
authorities and NHS trusts, and, where appropriate, that the
application of new technology is robust enough to deliver the
necessary levels of accessibility and security.
The company has an established track record in managing
Government ICT programmes and systems to help ensure the delivery
of efficient citizen-centric services, organisational change, and
pragmatic information assurance solutions.
