International CBRN Symposium
4-6 October 2011 – Defence Academy of the UK, Shrivenham
The 14th CBRN Defence Symposium brought
together representatives from Military Staffs, Government
Procurement Agencies, Research and Development Staffs, Law
Enforcement agencies, and Industry. The symposium provided a forum
to discuss the latest developments in CBRN thinking and
enabling-technology that can best support the military and wider
government requirements.
This year's Symposium was themed on “The Need
for Innovation: how the CBRN Sector can contribute to and benefit
from it” and focused on innovation in processes and technology. The
UK Government’s approach to innovation was considered, as well as
how the CBRN Sector can contribute to and benefit from
it. Speakers from the USA, Canada, Australia, NATO, the EU and
other European nations shared their views on innovation and debated
how closer co-operation could aid and drive innovation.
In partnership with Serco, SELEX Systems
Integration is a Key Strategic Partner (KSP) for the INFORM element
of the CBRN Sector Transformation programme. Along with UK MOD and
other KSPs QiniteQ and KBR, the companies form part of the Joint
Delivery Team (JDT) that is proposing a radical new approach to how
the UK Ministry of Defence can transform the procurement and
through-life management of front line capability.
SELEX Systems Integration was once again
pleased to be sponsoring the CBRN Defence Symposium and together
with the other members of the JDT had a significant presence at
this year’s event.
