SELEX Systems Integration awarded new British standard for
Collaborative Business Relationships
18 May
2011 – SELEX Systems Integration Ltd, a Finmeccanica company, has
become one of the first companies to have been awarded the new
British standard for Collaborative Business Relationships (BS
11000-1:2010).
The standard provides a
strategic framework for building and managing collaborative
business relationships. It helps address the core requirements that
ensure an organisation’s relationships are effective, optimised and
ultimately deliver enhanced benefit to all stakeholders, including
suppliers, partners and customers. BS 11000-1:2010 is also designed
to help businesses and their partners share knowledge, skills and
resources effectively, in order to meet mutually defined objectives
and provide new levels of value creation.
SELEX Systems Integration was
awarded the standard based on its proven working relationships with
five existing suppliers in the traffic management industry. During
the accreditation process, the company provided evidence on how its
collaborative environment was playing an active role in the
successful delivery of the projects. As part of its ongoing
commitment to collaborative business relationships, the company
already has plans to formalise other key partnerships in line with
BS 11000-1:2010 in the near future.
SELEX Systems Integration Chief
Executive, Michael Clayforth-Carr, said: “Research demonstrates
that collaborative relationships can be more successful than
typical client-supplier ones. We are therefore extremely proud to
be one of the first awarded the BS 11000-1:2010 standard, and are
confident that by working to its principles, SELEX Systems
Integration can develop a new era of highly effective and
productive relationships with our suppliers, clients and partners.
This will help us build trust and be more competitive by achieving
better cost management, better resource and risk management, and
fostering innovation.”
