Maintenance Training

As pressures mount on defence budgets and orders around the world for major platforms are cancelled, the reliability and the operational availability of existing equipment become even more important.

Since delivering our first computer-based maintenance training system for the Royal Navy’s Sea Harrier in 1994, SELEX Systems Integration has gone on to develop maintenance training to enhance the operational performance of major platforms across Europe.

Our computer-based maintenance training solutions help:

  • Reduce Costs: by re-using of best of breed Commercial Of The Shelf (COTS) training technologies, every student has instant access to equipment without the need for expensive Ground Fix Assets. This also helps reduce costs by condensing the training course timescales.
  • Increase Operational Capability: our synthetic trainers reduce the need to take operational equipment out of service and gives students experience with unfamiliar kit or a particular uncommon or complex fault scenario
  • Improve equipment reliability: by improving system knowledge and diagnostic skills, front-line capability is ultimately enhanced by properly skilled and experienced maintenance crews

Avionics Systems Trainer (AST)

Avionics System Trainer (AST)

AST provides a unique training platform for first line avionics systems maintenance mechanics and technicians. Users are provided with an environment that simulates the cognitive processes involved with operating or maintaining any military fast jet or rotary wing aircraft such as Typhoon, F-16, Apache, Tornado or Hawk.
